Great for seniors with knee issues but they will need assistance carrying and setting up

With the seat 25" off the ground it may be a little high for shorter folks; however, I envision this as primarily a beach chair and would suggest working it down into the sand to lower the height and also provide more stability. At a little over 11 pounds it's a bit heavy as well as unwieldy because of course it's longer than a "regular" canvas chair when in its carrying pouch (which does have a nice shoulder strap). Note that the armrests do have to be connected and disconnected to assemble and disassemble it (and the back rest does NOT recline). On first assembly I found it difficult to lower the armrests into place, then found that when you simultaneously pull the top of the back post towards you as you lower the armrest (not an easy feat) it does work. You then have to work the armrest down a bit so it clicks into place. To remove the armrest you push a "button" (actually just a piece of plastic cut out of the housing) to release it. Worked easily on the first try, but for the remaining armrest I had to struggle a while before I realized that pushing down on the armrest again seemed to help, and it came off easily. Wrestling it back into the carry pouch (feet of the chair first) was also tricky. I would suggest that the user bring along a small plastic footrest/stepstool because when they are seated that high off the ground their feet will dangle (and their legs probably go to sleep). (Funny how a solution to one problem can cause another!) There is a handy pocket hanging from the right armrest that can accommodate something like a bottled water (keep the top screwed on so it doesn't spill when putting it there) and other small items. (I do note that at the reviews by Juicce and R.R. listed with this item are actually for a different chair, standard height (and not a "high back), with a true cupholder.) But all in all, this is the only "high" canvas camp-style chair I have found (including on Am*zon) that folds and carries relatively easily. Remains to be seen whether my elderly relative will like it but I'm hoping she will.
